AOL - AMERICA ONLINE RIPOFf WONT STOP SENDING ME THERE STUPID SOFTWARE! DULLES Virginia *Consumer Comment ..UPDATE...AOL GET A CLUE STOP CALLING ME!

Company
AOL - AMERICA ONLINE
Address:
22000 AOL WAY
DULLES Virginia 20166
U.S.A.
Phone Number:

Fax:

ABOUT A YEAR AGO I STILL HAD AOL. I WAS FINALLY TIRED OF THERE PATHETIC DIAL UP INTERNET CONNECTION AND POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.

I FINALLY SWITCHED TO DSL AND IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN AOL. AOL NEEDS TO GET A CLUE I AM NOT INTERESTED IN RECEIVING ANY MORE OF THERE SOFTWARE. I HAVE CALLED AND ASKED TO BE REMOVED FROM THERE MAILING LIST AND EVERY TIME I DO THE SO CALLED REPRESENTATIVE ON THE PHONE STARTS TO ACT DUMB. THERE COMMERCIALS ARE UNREALISTIC. WHEN I TRIED TO REMOVE THE SOFTWARE FROM MY COMPUTER THE FIRST TIME (TAKING IT OUT OF THE REGISTRY AND ADD/REMOVE SOFTWARE SECTION) I FOUND OUT AOL MADE A SECRET FOLDER DEEP INSIDE MY COMPUTER. I HAD TO DELETE IT MANUALLY AND IT KEPT RE-APPEARING. IN THE END I HAD TO DO A COMPLETE SYSTEM RE-INSTALL TO GET THE SOFTWARE OFF MY COMPUTERS HARD DRIVE! I HAD CALLED NUMEROUS TIMES AND ASK THEM HOW IS IT LEAGL FOR THEM TO DO THAT. I WAS HUNG UP ON EACH TIME I CALLED. AOL NEEDS TO GET A CLUE AND GET WITH THE TIMES. NO ONE WANTS DIAL UP ANY MORE OR TERRIBLE SOFTWARE THAT. BESIDES WHEN EVER YOU CALL THERE 1-800 NUMBER TO GET HELP IT SEEMS I AM CALLING OUT OF THE COUNTRY WHEN I AM IN THE GOOD OLD USA. DSL IS THE WAY TO GO FOR INTERNET SERVICE. STAY AWAY FROM AOL, UNLESS YOU REALLY WANT YOUR COMPUTER TO RUN SLOW, HAVE SOFTWARE ON YOUR COMPUTER WHICH CRASHES YOUR SYSTEM. HAVE INTERNET SERVICE WHICH TAKES FOR EVER TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE INTERNET. I AM SURE AT ONE TIME AOL WAS GOOD. BUT IT HASN'T BEEN FOR SO LONG. AOL I DON'T WANT YOUR SOFTWARE. STOP MAILING ME THAT JUNK! ONE MORE LITTLE NOTE, AOL ALWAYS SENDS SOFTWARE THAT SAYS "POP IN YOUR FREE CD ROM, 2 MONTHS AOL FREE! (IN SMALL PRINT IT USUALLY SAYS NO CREDIT CARD REQUIRED) HOWEVER, BEWARE WHEN YOU INSTALL THE SOFTWARE IT ASKS YOU FOR A CREDIT CARD NUMBER TO ACTIVATE THE PROGRAM. AOL IS JUST A TERRIBLE INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER WHO MISS-LEADS THERE CUSTOMERS THROUGH JUNK MAIL AND BAD COMMERCIALS.

UPDATE...AOL GET A CLUE STOP CALLING ME!

AOL IS NOW CALLING ME AT HOME. I USUALLY SCREEN MY CALLS BEFORE I ANSWER THEM. THIS TIME I MADE THE MISTAKE OF PICKING UP THE PHONE AND IT WAS AOL SOLICITING INTENET SERVICES. I TOLD THEM I HAVE CALLED BEFORE AND REQUESTED TO BE TAKEN OFF OF THERE MAILING LIST AND CALL LIST. I TRIED TO BE POLITE ABOUT IT BUT THEY ARE RUDE AND DON'T GET THE POINT. I AM ON THE DO NOT CALL LIST AND THEY STILL CALL ANYWAY!

AOL LEAVE ME ALONE!

AOL hijacks Pc's with software

I learned that AOL got this idea many years ago.

You get their software and install it on your PC. What is going on is, it changes your internet setup in your PC in such a way that if you were to un-install it, you can't get your system back to what it was before you installed AOL software.

Best advice; just do a complete re-install of your computer and backup your important documents!
